Making art with our kids!

I am really proud of Michiel for making this video and going outside his comfort zone and doing a voiceover for the very first time!
He really wanted to participate with contributing to this blog and start making videos and blog posts. And I am so excited he is actually making a big effort to take part! So here the first of hopefully many blog and video posts from Michiel, to show you guys the dad’s perspective in our lives!

But as usual with firsts, the insecurity kicks in… and I hear him asking me  “Jolanda tell me hounestly, is it good enough!? it’s not isn’t it…”
Well, I definitely think its good enough!!! It’s honest, sincere, from the heart and real. Especially when you know that it’s the first time he had done a voiceover, which made him completely awkward. So I give him extra Bonus points for daring to push beyond his comfort zone and being open and vulnerable. That’s why I love this man.

What do you guys think!? Want to see more of his content on the site and witness him getting more comfortable with sharing his thoughts with you guys!?

Michiel about the video:
Watch our 7-year-old daughter Miley making art!
With this portrait of my daughter Miley I draw I wasn’t sure what to do with the colors, so I drew the lines and hung it on the wall for a good 6 months if not longer. Until Miley came up with the idea of giving it some color herself! I only had to tell her ones and she picked it up so fast. She loved working together with me creating this painting together and the end result could not have been any better.

Bohemian Workmode

Photography: Wild & BOHO – Michiel Fook

I’m a creative! And by being a self-proclaimed artist I think I earned the right to always wear whatever I feel like.
I do have to attend a business meeting sometimes because that comes with the territory of having your own business.
I still have to discover the “business suit” that feels right to me. And if someone doesn’t like my style, they have no business working with me…so basically, every day, is casual Friday for me! That being said, I do have a “working mode” style. Whenever I go to meetings I like to wear pants and really high heels. because that makes me feel extra confident and powerful! I like flowing fabrics and I’m not scared of a little bit of color.

For example these Comfortable Paper Bag Waist Pants. I just love the balance between Stylish but not like I’m trying too hard. I love to combine it with a cute flowered blouse because I’m always a flower girl wherever i go, and my mustard-yellow winter trenchcoat which is totally giving me positive vibes whenever I put it on. Of course, I’m bringing my trusted leather bag with me where I can easily fit all of my papers, tablet, and agenda in, and off I go!

Do you dare/are you allowed to be yourself in your business meetings?
I can definitely recommend it!

Roadtrip Amsterdam to Barcelona Video

There was a time we went on an adventure. All four of us in a bus. We had a wonderful journey, met amazing people, and saw beautiful new places. This is what #vanlife is all about! To us, it’s a bonding experience and making memories to last a lifetime!

We started this trip with the four of us, but after we came home we discovered that we were no longer four! A little-fived person had announced her arrival to us. And thinking back… she was already with us half our trip! So we came home a Family of five. 7 months after we arrived home in May 2017 our little baby girl Quinn was born! Making the road trip we had an extra special memory to us!

Re-live our roadtrip from Amsterdam to Barcelona with us…

Soft winter at the Harbour

Soft winter at the Harbour

You have those harsh winter days, and those days where it’s really not necessary to wear a heavy coat but a vest will do just fine! We love our beautiful, luxurious heavy winter coats, but with a few knitted layers on it feels so much lighter and still warm without the restricted movability that a winter coat brings… So comfortable!

Michiel is a cap, hat or beanie wearing kind of guy so you will almost always find him with something on his head.  Now we’re all grown up I just love these stylish duotone caps with mixed materials. which give the cap a bit more classic feel, instead of sporty look.

Allways nice to mix things up a bit especially in the winter when temperatures can fluctuate so much in Holland!
We are wondering, where do you guys live!?
